Breed: Dalmatian Terrier
Dolce is about 22 months old, we are not sure what mix she is, your guess is as good as ours. Dolce is currently looking for a foster or forever home who can provide positive reinforcement training and lots of socialization with other dogs.
Dolce was brought home as a puppy by young boys who thought she was cute. Once the cuteness factor wore off, she was left outside in a small yard without proper socialization with people or dogs. She did not get any training, and was lonely. Finally, the mom of the boys decided that it was unfair for this beautiful dog to live with them as they could not provide what she needed.
I met with Dolce and introduced her to my dogs. She was terrified of them and wanted to defend herself. On intital meetings with other dogs, Dolce seemed aggressive and could portray herself as a mean dog. After a good 1 1/2 hour walk with all the other dogs, she started to become a real dog. She wanted to play, she showed no more aggression, she realized that having doggie friends was normal, and was fun.
Seeing her like this pleased me, as I knew then she had a chance to become a wonderful companion for someone. I decided that I would take her on, and find her a forever home that would give her all she deserved after having a rough start to her life.
Dolce still needs to learn not to pull on leash. She is willing to please and would not be hard to train. She is house broken and loves the attention and affection from humans. She is hand-shy and obviously has been hit.
If you feel you could open your heart and home to this sweet girl, please send us an email. Her adoption fee is $250, she is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed.
