Breed: Shih Tzu Poodle
Gumball is looking all cute now that he's had a professional haircut! This little guy came in quite matted all over, so we're sure he's happy to be with us at the shelter. He is a very quiet natured little guy when he's in his kennel who barely moves off his bed usually and appears to be super shy. If you take him out and about and play with him, he shows his silly side with zoomies and tail wags!
Gumball takes a liking to people who sit down beside him and introduce themselves, versus just rushing to scoop him up being a little dog. He quickly warms up to people and becomes quite playful once you've been introduced. Once in a blue moon, he gets distrustful about the way a person approaches him, so it is something that needs to be worked on with building his trust. He did extremely well at the vet, likes to be around kids (although we wouldn't place him in a home with kids at this point) and does well on the walk program, but this distrust that pops up may take some time so that he feels 100% secure again. If you are an adult home, who has time to work with Gumball in a "foster to adopt" arrangement, we'd love for you to come down to meet him.
Hours for adoption viewings are Mon - Friday from noon until 6 pm, and Sat/Sun from 10 - 4 pm. Please be advised that our dogs are strays, so we do not have any background history on them. To meet any of the dogs, please visit the Vancouver Animal Control Shelter (VACS) at Raymur Avenue in Vancouver, or call 604-871-.
