GRAELEE - Female Pom/Sheltie X , approx 1 year old, 10 lbs
More info and pics of Graelee can be found on his foster home's blog: http://foster4tg.blogspot.com/
Graelee came to Turtle Gardens because her owner had too many dogs and was dealing with illness. She is such a great little dog for a very lucky adopter. She is a cuddlebug, follow you anywhere, devoted companion. She comes when you call her. She is housetrained.
Graelee has a limp. She was diagnosed as having a medially luxating patella of the right hind leg. She has been reviewed by the vet and they did not recommend surgery or any special treatment. They believe she is not in any pain and that she was born this way. They also explain that "this is a common condition in small and toy breed dogs but it does not prevent them from running and playing even when both legs are affected. Arthritis may develop with age so the most important thing to manage with this condition is to prevent these dogs from becoming overweight."
She limps but this really does not slow her down at all, nor does she act like she is in any pain. Anyone adopting Graelee would need to understand that she may or may not require treatement for her leg(s) in the future. She is a beautiful little dog and hopefully her 'imperfection' does not prevent her from finding a great home.

Pets can be flown to new homes. Application and homecheck required for all homes, the dog will go to the best home for the dog.
